Omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA
are good for the heart and blood vessels

How does Omega-3 work?

Fatty acids Omega-3 (ALA, EPA and DHA) are part of the essential fatty acids family. They are essential for optimal health but the body is unable to synthesize these fatty acids alone. For these reasons it is important to take adequate amounts of Omega-3 fatty acids as part of your daily diet.

Omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA have beneficial effects on the heart and blood vessels. In fact they contribute to a reduction in the level of cholesterol and regulate blood pressure. Omega-3 fatty acids also improve memory and concentration.

Omega-3 fatty acids in the diet

The alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) vegetable origin of Omega-3 is located in nuts, linseed and soybean oil. It is also added to certain spreadable fats such as margarine and other foods.

EPA and DHA, Omega-3 fatty acids found in fish, are found primarily in fish such as herring, eel, mackerel and salmon.

Daily recommended amount of Omega-3

For adults the standard amount is set at 450 mg EPA and DHA per day. This value corresponds to a portion of fish (100-150 g) twice a week, one of which based on fatty fish. With Omega-3, the recommended amount varies from 2 to 3 grams. Although currently Omega-3 fatty acids are the focus of a lot of interest, the intake of fatty acids derived from fish oil, EPA and DHA, as well as the intake of ALA is still much lower than the recommended amount. If you can not eat fish twice a week or if you are not a lover of fish, FitForMe Omega-3 fish oil is an excellent addition to your diet. These capsules contain 100% pure fish oil, guaranteeing the maximum quality of the product.

Omega-3 fatty acids and surgery for obesity

Omega-3 is very useful after a placement of a gastric band, sleeve, gastric bypass procedure, biliopancreatic diversion or duodenal switch, especially if you are unable to consume adequate amounts of fatty fish during the week. Omega-3 fatty acids also have a fat burning effect. These fatty acids stimulate lipolysis of adipose tissue, allowing you to lose weight even faster. You can take the supplement FitForMe’s Omega-3 supplement with our WLS Optimum product after a gastric banding or sleeve procedure, and with WLS Forte after a gastric bypass, biliopancreatic diversion or duodenal switch procedure. In this way you can keep yourself in top shape!
