For many, weight loss surgery
represents a brand new start

Sleeve

A Gastric Sleeve operation is similar to a Gastric Bypass, but a portion of the stomach is removed. This procedure is usually performed using laproscopy and keyhole surgery.

A large portion of the stomach is removed, leaving a a narrow strip of stomach – the sleeve. In contrast to gastric bypass surgery, the transition between the duodenum and the stomach is unchanged. The intestines are not cut and therefore the transition remains intact.

After the operation, in most cases, the patient loses a portion of their excess weight. This is due to the size of the stomach being made considerably smaller and the patient adjusting their lifestyle.
